Greetings AACP Community,

Please save the date for the 2026 AACP Leadership Summit on Clinical Psychology and Clinical Psychopharmacology, taking place October 15 & 16, 2026.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Stephen A. Ragusea will serve as a Keynote Speaker for Clinical Psychology at this year’s Summit. 

Stephen A. Ragusea, PsyD, ABPP is a family and forensic psychologist currently practicing in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, after working for 15 years in Key West, Florida. Previously he spent 25 years in a group practice in State College, Pennsylvania. He was also the founder and first Clinical Director of The Meadows Psychiatric Center, a private 100 bed hospital. 

Dr. Ragusea is Fellow and past president of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and past Chair of PPA's Practice Research Network. He served on the Pennsylvania Board of Psychology. As a member of the Florida Psychological Association, he served on the Board of Directors of FPA and as Chair of FPA's Ethics Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association’s Divisions 31 and 55. He has published over 50 articles and book chapters, taught at Penn State, Harvard Medical School, and The College of the Florida Keys. He has served on the editorial board of Professional Psychology, Research and Practice and as Chair of APA's Council of Representative's State and Provincial Caucus. Ragusea is winner of various awards including APA’s Special Presidential Award for Outstanding Contributions to Psychology, APA's Heiser Award for Advocacy, PPA's Distinguished Service Award, FPA's Award for Ethical Contributions to Psychology, FPA's Distinguished Psychologist Award, and an Advocacy Award conferred by APA's Division 55.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Ragusea to the 2026 Summit and look forward to the perspective and leadership he will bring to this year’s program.

We are equally honored to announce that Dr. Rick Barnett will serve as a Keynote Speaker for Clinical Psychopharmacology at this year’s Summit. 

Dr. Rick Barnett, Psy.D., LADC, is a clinical psychologist and addiction specialist. Dr. Barnett holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia University, a Doctorate and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology. He is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and has been trained in problematic sexual behavior (PSB-S) and gambling disorder.

In 2020-2021, Dr. Barnett completed the yearlong Certificate Program for Psychedelic Therapy and Research through the California Institute for Integral Studies. He also completed Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy training with Polaris Insight Center and the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI) in 2021.

Dr. Barnett founded the non-profit organization CARTER, Inc. in 2015 to expand addiction-related resources in Vermont. He is Legislative Chair and a Past-President of the Vermont Psychological Association. In 2020 he served as President of the Society for Prescribing Psychologists (Division 55) of the APA. Rick maintains a private practice in Stowe, VT. He is an active advocate for mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Barnett to the 2026 Summit, where he will bring a powerful blend of clinical expertise, advocacy experience, and policy insight to this year’s program.

The cost of attendance to the virtual conference is:

              Members (Fellows, Professional Members, and Students) = Free

              Non-Members = $150.00
